We also want to thank our FTCC judges: Melvin (Buddy) Baker, Gina Carrillo, Terrence (Terry) Dunne, Mark Hanigan, Bruce Kula, Diane Lartigue, Jan Lowry, Cynthia Moyers, and Mike Murray.
A special thanks goes to the FTCC committee, Becky Siebenthaler, and Cindy Smith, who worked together with myself to coordinate an outstanding competition.
Thanks to Nermina Miller and Tom Johnson for publicizing the FTCC. And thanks to Cynthia Moyers for stepping in to help with the FTCC awards.
Also, thanks to Joanna Castner for her suggestions and guidance.
Everyone did a superb job. Thank you!
Note: (All FTCC awards will be presented at the STC Suncoast meeting on March 2.)
I posted this in behalf of Joanna:
Dear Suncoast members:
The FTCC awards ceremony was wonderful last night. We were able to visit with our winning colleagues and see their excellent documents. Thanks to all for making it such a memorable night.
I want to try to correct a horrifying mistake of my own, however. I had a special place in the program reserved for Cynthia Moyers, our Treasurer, without whom FTCC would not have run so smoothly.
I had pulled her out of the judges and coordinators line-up to honor her in particular. She has guided the FTCC crew for two years now in making sure all the funds worked out just right, and she also took over the awards production this year, despite an absolutely crazy schedule of her own to maintain. I had a special gift for her, and being the scatterbrained ditz that I am, I skipped over that portion of the program entirely. The same kind of thing happens to me when I put something very special in a certain location to keep it safe, and then forget entirely where that place is. This is why we should never make me treasurer and just another reason why Cynthia has been an essential person on our administrative council.
Please join us next meeting to thank her in person for her excellent and essential work in making FTCC happen and Suncoast Chapter so successful.
We will be sending more about speakers for April soon.
Sincerely,
Joanna Castner
the absent-minded, scatterbrained professor and
Suncoast Chapter President
