For our May 4 chapter meeting, the speaker will be Charlotte Robidoux. The title of her presentation is “Content Management: How to Engage your Team.”Hewlett-Packard’s StorageWorks documentation team has established practical techniques with proven results through its partnership with Vasont Systems. This “how to” session will provide tangible strategies for engaging your team in single sourcing and content management system (CMS) implementation. Topics include:

  • Pilot implementation
  • Practical checklists
  • Steering committee collaboration
  • New roles and ownership (CMS administrator, XSL coordination)
  • Structured writing guidelines
  • Content mapping
  • Criteria for product readiness
  • Training options
  • Establishing best practices
  • Audience members will receive takeaway tools that can be customized for use in diverse business environments

Speaker Bio:

Charlotte Robidoux is manager of learning products at Hewlett-Packard Company in Marlborough, MA, with 15 years of experience in technical communication. She oversees the production of end-user storage documentation for projects based in New England and at other HP locations in North America.

After earning a BA in English from Holy Cross and MA in writing from Georgetown University, she began her career in technical communications as a consultant for Washington, DC, firms holding contracts with the Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, Environmental Protection Agency, and others.

In 2000, she accepted a position at Compaq in the storage division, which extended into her current role at HP. Currently, Charlotte is pursuing her doctorate in rhetoric and technical communication, writing her dissertation on the role of communication in genetics research.

Charlotte a recipient of the 2005 Center for Information-Development Management Rare Bird Award for her presentation on DocKeeper, a documentation database designed by HP. The presentation provided an in-depth overview of how to create a comprehensive methodology for tracking projects and finances, one that can be automated to drive efficiency, improve accuracy, streamline productivity, and increase your command of bottom-line information.

Directions:  From Pinellas - Take U.S. Hwy 19 to SR 60 East  (Courtney Campbell Causeway); turn left onto Rocky Point Dr. Follow the road to the right. After you pass the Hampton Inn, turn right into the Holiday Inn Express parking area. Bahama Breeze is to the north of the Holiday Inn Express.

From Tampa - Take I-275 south to Exit 39 (old Exit 20) (SR 60, Clearwater, Tampa Airport). Merge onto SR 60. Get into one of the left three lanes and take the West SR 60 (Clearwater) exit. The second traffic light is Rocky Point Dr. Turn right. Follow the road to the right. After you pass the Hampton Inn, turn right into the Holiday Inn Express parking area. Bahama Breeze is to the north of the Holiday Inn Express.
