Public Relations Committee Members/Leader Needed!
Jul 24th, 2006 | By Kelly | Category: PlanningLooking to round out your writing portfolio or your resume with some marketing communications and public relations work? Do you need an excuse to network with your peers or reach out to the community at large? This is your opportunity to grow professionally and make a difference in our chapter! We need at least 3 Suncoast chapter members (but the more, the merrier!) to comprise the Public Relations Committee, including a leader.
Members are generally responsible for developing publicity for our chapter so that members, other chapters, local chapters of other organizations, and local employers want to be more involved in our activities.
Specific activities include producing a flyer every month to send to members announcing the next monthly meeting, disseminating press releases to the local media, and otherwise doing whatever it takes (here is where your creativity can really go wild) to keep the Suncoast STC chapter on the forefront of chapter members and local businesses’ minds. How you get this done is only limited by your imagination, but you’re not alone in it! You have the administrative council (your president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer) backing you up, as well as the other committee members and other committee leaders.
For those budding leaders, this is an opportunity to lead a small group in accomplishing a small set of objectives on a regular basis in a small-scale, comfortable environment with the support of your peers. You can hone your leadership skills and project management while having a lot of fun and getting to know some great people! The leader is also responsible for one post a year to the blog to let the rest of us know what you’re doing, but we know you’ll want to talk to us more than that! And if you need more of a challenge, you can lead your group toward accomplishing the objectives needed to help our chapter become a Chapter of Merit, Chapter of Excellence, or Chapter of Distinction.

We received two volunteers for this team: Lisa Carpenter and Amy Lapwing. This is great. If any more of you are interested, there is plenty of room on the team.
