In our last survey, you said that job listings were the most important value of the STC. Just to let you know, there are a couple of new job features on the website. If you click the Employment button, you’ll see some subpages on the right, described as follows:

• Indeed Job Stream: This page automatically pulls in the latest jobs matching keywords from Indeed.com.
• Employer Directory: Although this directory is three years old, it shows most of the employers in the area that hire technical writers.
• Salary Surveys: In case you missed it, WritersUA published their 2007 salary survey. It’s comprehensive and shows salaries by geographic location as well as other variables. I added two other salary surveys here too.
• Writers for Hire: We’ve had this feature off and on for this site for a while. I’ve tried to make it more visible on the site. If you’re looking for work, whether freelance or full-time, you can add your resume here.

Ginger Doherty posts all job descriptions she receives. If you know of any openings, forward them to her and she will post them on the site and distribute them to the listserv.
