This Thursday, August 2, the topic of our Suncoast chapter meeting is online simulations and instructional design. John Sopchak and Wendy Passman from Kaplan IT/STT will conduct a presentation and demo of STT Trainer.

Online simulations for IT training have been touted as the next big wave in training, and for good reason. Learners generally prefer training simulations because they offer complexity, realism, and an opportunity to practice new skills in a non-intimidating risk-free environment. Managers prefer training simulations because they result in more motivated end users with higher retention rates.

In the past, simulation training and related content was expensive and time-consuming to create. Now, however, there are powerful and easy to use simulation development tools available to create simulation content, documentation, and training materials that can be used for e-learning, classroom training or a blended approach. Perhaps the largest barrier to entry now is a lack of understanding of what is possible in the area of simulation training, tools, and content.

Let us show you STT Trainer as an example of such a tool and the value it can bring to you as trainers and to your end users.
