Tom Is Moving Out of State — Change of Leadership

Aug 11th, 2007 | By Tom Johnson | Category: News

Hello Suncoasters,

I’m relocating out of state this month and must pass on the position of president to my trusted vice president. The new chapter leadership will be as follows:

  • President: Clyde Parson
  • Vice President: Beth Long
  • Secretary: Martha Collins
  • Treasurer: Charles Arnold

I’m excited to see this new leadership team begin their roles. I have personally worked with each of them during my time in the chapter, and each  is knowledgeable, experienced, active, and enthusiastic. I ask you to please support them by helping out when asked, volunteering your efforts to further the chapter’s mission, and in general being friendly.

Where am I going? I’m moving to Utah, where my wife’s family lives. I’ll be working about 80 miles southwest of Salt Lake City for EMC, which contracts with the army at Dugway. We’ve been wanting to move to Utah for a while, and we felt the time was right.
I will miss you all. I really enjoyed my time as president and webmaster in the chapter. Keep in touch. As always, my email is tom@idratherbewriting.com and my blog is www.idratherbewriting.com.

  1. Tom, we will miss you SO MUCH! You stepped into a hard position without preparation and have devoted a huge amount of time and energy to STC in the past year and a half. In addition to representing the chapter very well as president, you have created an attractive and active website that is easy to use. And without your participation and enthusiasm for FTCC, it could not have been as successful as it was.

Thanks for setting us up so well before you go - the new officer panel sounds very energetic, and you’ve given us thorough guidelines for everything.

Thanks, too, to your wonderful family for loaning you to us so much. Whatever groups you’re involved with in Utah will soon realize their good fortune. We wish all of you the very best with your relocation.

  2. Tom, you have done a fabulous job leading the Suncoast STC. You will be missed, but best wishes in all your new endeavors! Being with family is the best thing, and all that get to know you there will know their good fortune to meet you, as we did, I am sure.
