The Content Wrangler Community Launch

Mar 13th, 2008 | By Leila Woolheater | Category: Discussion

On March 8, Scott Abel of TheContentWrangler.com launched a web-based community that is self-described as “The social network for content professionals” and three days later announced a membership of over 600.  Accessible from the Community tab of  http://www.thecontentwrangler.com or directly from  http://thecontentwrangler.ning.com, this new community shows the interactivity that web users are beginning to expect and provides members-only services, including online learning materials and courses.

As Abel, manager of The Content Wrangler Community, explained, “Web-based social networks are the natural evolution of the web from a passive broadcast medium to a multi-directional communication platform that more closely supports the way humans interact in the physical world.”

A survey question seen on the community’s main community page this morning asks: ”Are you a current or former member of the Society for Technical Communication?”
