Lender Processing Services (LPS) currently has an opening for a Senior Technical Writer. Anyone who is interested can apply at http://www.lpsvcs.com/.

This position develops Help systems and other documentation for web-based and client-server mortgage software, which includes:

·       Analyzing source materials such as use cases, design specs, and other technical documents to identify how the software functions and what business needs are being met

·       Working with analysts and developers to understand how applications behave

·       Using applications under development to understand how they work and determine the best way to document them

·       Developing html-based help ensuring help meeting standards for technical writing, grammar, and formats

·       Testing Help systems to ensure that no errors are delivered into production

·       Maintaining Help systems

 

Minimum Requirements:

·     3-5 years Help development experience including online help, release notes, hardware and software installation guides, user guides, reference guides, administrator guides, and quick-reference materials for Web-based and client-server products.

·      Experience developing online help using a Windows help development tool (AuthorIT, RoboHelp,  WebWorks), HTML or HTML help, or XML.

·      Technical understanding of web- and client-server architecture and programming concepts. 

·      Proven project management experience and skills. 

·       Successful experience working in a team-writing environment. 

·       Excellent analysis, interviewing, research, troubleshooting, and information-gathering skills.

·       Must be assertive, a quick learner, and have excellent attention to detail.

 Education: Bachelors degree in Technical Communications, Communications, English

 Experience: 3-5 years experience developing Help systems for software applications.

·       Knowledge of the mortgage industry

·       JavaScript experience
