ProEdit has an exciting new opportunity for a technical writer for a four- to six-month contract in Ellenton, Florida (ZIP code: 34222). The writer will research and develop content for printed manuals, documentation, and supporting materials for software, hardware, technical procedures, and other computer-related services. The writer will interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to become familiar with product technology and development methods. The writer will also create graphics and test software and hardware for accuracy and consistency with documentation.

Qualifications for this position include:

-          1 to 2 years of experience creating and editing user documentation for electric hardware.

-          Must be fluent in MS Word, particularly using templates, styles, and document automation fields.

-          Must have experience interviewing subject matter experts, particularly engineers.

-          Ability to edit simple technical illustrations.

-          Knowledge of CorelDraw, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and related applications is a plus.

-          Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

-          Bachelor’s degree required.
