Blogletter Team’s Duties (Bylaws)

Note: I updated this to reflect the switch from hard-copy newsletter to online “blogletter.”

  • Write, edit, produce, and mail a monthly Chapter newsletter, published in the form of recent blog posts. This “blogletter” should reach the membership at least one week prior to the date of the next scheduled Chapter meeting
  • Assist the Public Relations Team with the production and mailing of monthly meeting flyers, if necessary
  • Solicit articles/posts from Chapter members and other local professionals in the field of technical communication
  • Establish policies regarding blog advertising for companies and individual members. Publish the advertising rates to the membership and other interested parties
  • Submit to the editors of Tieline and Intercom any news about Chapter meetings, conferences, or other activities that may be of general interest to the Society membership
  • Exchange newsletters and blog posts with other chapters. As a minimum, newsletters are to be exchanged with all other Florida chapters. Other exchange agreements may be made at the discretion of the team
  • Assume full responsibility for the quality, content, and timeliness of the Chapter blog. (The text of each issue does not need to be approved in advance by the President, unless the content is particularly controversial or scathing.)
